Born in Kolkata, Dipanjan Guha is one of the brightest sitarists of the present time and a long-time disciple of renowned
sitar maestro Shri Kushal Das.
Encouraged and pursued by his mother Sukla Guha, who is a renowned Rabindrasangeet singer, his training began at the age
of ten, under the guidance of Shri Sailen Das. He has since played in many concerts in India and abroad including prestigious
venues like Nehru Center, London, Princeton University, USA, the Indian High Commission in Johannesburg and many more. Dipanjan
also played for the independent Hollywood movie, "Red is the Color Of".
His concerts have got a big appreciation from the press.
His creation was once described as "music magic" by Times of India and he as "the master of creating moods
through melodies" in the review of his Princeton University concert.
His concerts are marked for their serenity, passionate appeal and virtuosity. Though primarily a musician of the Senia
Maihar gharana, Dipanjan has a distinct style of his own, taking from different gharanas and different genres of music and
aesthetically developing into a subtle and unique style.
He has received intensive training in sitar techniques and the art of music making under the affectionate guidance of
